Timber floors and walls specified for London bar

A Victorian Woodworks product story

Victorian Woodworks has specified a variation of timber for the floors and walls of The Parlour bar, Drake and Morgan's second site, in Canary Wharf, London.

The Parlour features a handmade chandelier of spoons, spatulas, ladles and lights in a playful take on a design classic.

For the floors, Reclaimed Silvertown Pine was chosen, as not only is it an attractive timber, but it is hard wearing and will meet the demands of a heavily trafficked commercial environment.

There is also a secret-garden-inspired lounge with wicker hanging chairs, timber panelling and soft banquette seating.

There are a selection of high wooden tables and circular booths, a wine room and an alfresco terrace.

Timber floors and walls are designed to create a blend of colours and textures.

In contrast, Reclaimed Desert Oak was used for the wall cladding.

Creating a surface reminiscent of weathered boards, the inherent knots and splits are intended to give the interior of the building a rugged character.
