Mediterraneo Studio, a provider of bespoke lighting designs, has unveiled the contemporary Intuizione collection, a collaboration between creative director Giovanni Corrado and Vessel Gallery.

This project is said to combine the use of Venetian glass and a passion for design by both Corrado and Angel Monzon, art director of Vessel Gallery.

All pieces in the Intuizione lighting collection are made from metal and hand-blown Murano glass

All pieces are limited editions and are made from metal and hand-blown Murano glass.

Exploring key themes, including silhouettes, movement and dynamic juxtapositions, the new collection comprises five chandeliers.

With the initial brief centred around the idea of using elements to create larger forms and translating them to a human scale appropriate for domestic application, Intuizione takes a modern approach.

Corrado further explored some of the design concepts, including geometry based on the notion of constructivism, touched upon in Mediterraneo's 2009 Portfolio collection.

By experimenting with layers of simple geometric shapes in the same way as an artist would study the technique of perspective drawing, Corrado has created a series of complex 3D forms.

The Mediterraneo Studio collection will be exhibited at Vessel Gallery in London until 31 July 2010.
