Event organiser UBM has announced details of this year's Decorex International show, which will be held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London on 26-29 September 2010.

Interior decorator Nina Campbell will be creating her own vision with an 'Alice in Wonderland' theme as she custom designs the show's entrance using established and emerging talent exhibiting at Decorex.

Visitors to the event will see Alice's bedroom and bathroom, as well as the Mad Hatter's Library.

Also taking inspiration from 'Alice in Wonderland', Hermes and Harlequin Tabletop will create a Mad Hatters Tea Party using exquisite china and glass, furniture and decorative objects again sourced from exhibitors all sited within a grassed-over burrow above the ground.

Meanwhile, Ben Whistler, in conjunction with the Design Research Group, will be creating a champagne bar, cladding the bar furniture in leather.

Lewis Carroll's 'Through the Looking-Glass' novel has inspired Herme y Monica, Herme Ciscar and Monica Garcia's feature, entitled 'Spain Through the Looking Glass', where everything is not what it seems; rugs will change colour depending on where visitors stand, while a secret room, visible through a peephole, will reveal the unexpected by playing on the distortion of scale among other optical illusions.

All the products on display have been upholstered for the show by Coleccion Alexandra, Tecninova, Epoca and Mariner.

More than a quarter of the exhibitors at Decorex have announced that their products are made entirely in the UK, using British skills and craftsmanship.

Items made in Britain include Phillips and Wood lighting, Byron and Bryon curtain accessories, Barneby Gates wallpaper, Aaronson Noon glassware and Calfe Crimmings architectural finishings.

Various exhibitors at Decorex, including Ben Whistler, Luke Irwin and Diffuse, also offer bespoke services.

Crafted is a new mentoring programme developed to enable emerging craft businesses to develop their business skills while connecting luxury businesses with a new generation of skilled craftspeople.

Launched at the end of last year, this will be the first time that these craft businesses will show the results of their collaborations from well-known names from the design world.

Finally, the Seminar Programme will feature established names from the world of design alongside panel discussions.

Ideas about how to use space and materials and details over scale, saving energy and the influence of French designs are just some of the topics that will be discussed.

Guests this year will include John Minshaw, Jean Louis Denoit, Victoria Redshaw, Martin Brudnizki, Nina Campbell, Roger Thomas, David Linley and Joanna Wood.
