Rangecookers is reporting that online sales of range cookers via its website now outstrip orders placed over the phone, following an analysis of its website data for 2010.

This represents a shift from three years ago, when 39 per cent of range cooker orders were taken online.

52 per cent of online orders are taken during the office hours of 9am to 5pm, with peaks coinciding with morning breaks and lunch hours.

13 per cent of online orders are taken after 10pm and before 9am, and the quietest time is between 1 and 2am; then orders grow through the small hours.

The most popular hour to order a range cooker online is between 7 and 8pm, with nine per cent of shoppers choosing that time.

Sunday and Monday are the most popular days of the week for online range cooker buyers, with Friday being the day that people avoid.

Online sales have been recorded for every day of the year, including one sale for a GBP430 cooker hood on Christmas day.
