Philip Watts designs S-shaped sushi restaurant

A Philip Watts Design product story

Philip Watts Design has completed the design for another Yo Sushi restaurant - this time on the South Bank of the Thames at Royal Festival Hall.

The design scheme takes its inspiration from the listed octagonal columns within the interior.

An S-shaped conveyor belt snakes its way front to back through the space, forming two octagons at the front and rear.

The belt is mirrored on the ceiling by a timber raft that follows the belt and then flows down the wall, in turn forming a raised floor.

Another feature integrated into this scheme is an external conveyor belt, which enables diners to eat outside.
