Maytag introduces American-style washer and dryer

Maytag has introduced an American-style heavy-duty-capacity washer and a matching tumble dryer.

The top-loading washer (3RMTW4905TW) delivers a wash time of 25 minutes and has an 8.2kg capacity.

Its stainless-steel drum features a new agitator to improve washing.

Multiple programme options are available and include permanent press, normal, delicates, hand wash and extra rinse, coupled with 32 water levels and automatic temperature control.

The top-loading function eliminates bending, making it suitable for loading big, bulky items, while the control panel is comfortably positioned and finished in steely silver with 'grippable' control knobs.

Other features of the washer include: hot and cold fill; five wash programmes; an extra rinse for those with sensitive skin; an infinite water-level selector; and adjustable height and levelling.

The washer measures 1,092mm in height, 686mm in width and 743mm in depth.

The matching vented tumble dryer (3RMED4905TW) offers front loading and has a capacity of 10kg, with a choice of programme options including timed or automatic sensor drying.

It also comes with a drying rack to dry trainers, hats or anything that cannot be tumbled.

The tumble dryer features: three programmes; timed dry programmes; an air-fluff function; a freshen-up programme; a front-mounted lint screen; a rear vent; adjustable feet for height and levelling; and a 100mm (2ft) vent hose.

The dryer has the same dimensions as the washer.

Finished in white porcelain enamel, the Maytag American washing machine and tumble dryer are suitable for both domestic and light commercial use.
