Edited by the Interiorstalk editorial team Aug 5, 2010

A sculptured seat created by Ora-Ito using Hi-Macs, a next-generation solid surface developed by LG Hausys, will be presented at the 100 Per Cent Design exhibition in London on 23-26 September 2010.

Ora-Ito designed the object based on the 'Simplexity' philosophy: the art of giving a visible simplicity to a complex object.

The sculpture, which will be found on Stand A80, is said to have an architectural feel while performing a practical function: the structure of the sculpture reveals a seat in one fluid design.

The Hi-Macs material, which features excellent thermoformability properties, can be adapted to any desired shape.

It is composed of 70 per cent natural stone powder derived from bauxite, 25 per cent high-quality acrylic resin and five per cent natural pigments.
