Hi-Macs, a new-generation solid surface designed and produced by LG Hausys, is said to be ideal for the preparation of food and has been specified by several kitchen manufacturers for this function.

Hi-Macs also introduces a high level of aesthetic value through colour, texture, patterns and shape.

At Eurocucina 2010, during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, several kitchen producers proposed Hi-Macs in various applications.

Miton's Marosi kitchen island, for example, consists of almost 200 different pieces all made of Hi-Macs Acrylic Stone in Alpine White.

The central part of the structure ascends electronically and in the 'resting' position the central top aligns with the rest of the island, creating a single surface.

Presented by Euromobil, meanwhile, the Assim kitchen is characterised by a large floating island, with worktops made exclusively of Hi-Macs Acrylic Stone.

In addition, Aran's Volare kitchen comprises five types of door and worktop made of Acrylic Stone in Alpine White.

The special shape of the counter highlights the thermoformability of Hi-Macs.

Hi-Macs can be used for sinks and washbasins in standard sizes, which can be incorporated in line with the worktop with invisible joints that prevent the accumulation of waste along the edges and between the levels.

Some manufacturers have applied remote-controlled devices with LED illumination to the Hi-Macs sinks.

In the kitchens presented by Sicc, for instance, LEDs have been installed in a sink from its Hi-Macs range.

In the Arrex kitchens, light fittings have again been installed in the sink.

Laurent Daniel recently presented his new kitchen in the Schmidt showroom in Bourgoin Jallieu in France.

The kitchen's worktop is made of Hi-Macs in the Opal colour from the Lucent translucent range.

It is backlit evenly and is said to make the arrangement original and eye-catching.

The use of Lucent by LCD Design is claimed to showcase the eclectic nature of the translucent range.

The product is characterised by flexibility and is hygienic and functional.

It can be illuminated and used in any project.

Hi-Macs is composed of 70 per cent natural stone powder derived from bauxite, 25 per cent high-quality acrylic resin and five per cent natural pigments.
