Alivar exhibits Hi-Macs bookcase

Alivar is presenting the Wavy bookcase, which is available from LG Hausys, at the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair.

Designed by Giuseppe Bavuso, the model consists of basic elements in irregular geometric shapes, which, when superimposed, are said to form a hive-like structure.

The bookcase is formed of S28 Alpine white Hi-Macs, with dimensions of: 63cm x 36cm x 31/25cm; 124cm x 36cm x 25/31cm; and 185cm x 36cm x 25/31cm.

The material is composed of 70 per cent natural stone powder (bauxite derivative), 25 per cent acrylic resin and five per cent natural pigments.

Hi-Macs has the ability to be heat shaped and is translucent, soft, non-porous and mark and heat resistant, according to the company.

It comes with an initial 10-year guarantee, with five extra years when registered on the Hi-Macs website.
