Johnstone's paints specified for shopping centre

Paint manufacturer Johnstone's has provided a range of products and technical services as part of a refurbishment of the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham.

Members of the Johnstone's Technical Advisory Department worked together with painting contractor Roy Hankinson to specify products that would allow work to be undertaken with little disruption to the centre's trading, while ensuring it was completed on time.

With minimal disruption to trading proving a critical factor for the client, it was decided that the Johnstone's Covaplus Vinyl Matt Emulsion would be used to provide a quick-drying low-odour solution that was touch dry each morning following the nightly application.

Products used in accordance with the recommendations of the Technical Advisory Department included Stormshield Pliolite Based Masonry Finish, Woodworks Opaque Wood Finish and Eggshell; these were specified for their suitability for the substrates the decorators were challenged with.

As well as providing bespoke product specifications, the Johnstone's colour team were on hand to provide colour solutions for the project.

The centre utilises a range of bespoke colours, matched exactly by the tinting facilities available at the Johnstone's Leyland Decorating Centres.
