Felt is offering a range of neutral and brightly coloured Shyrdaks - wool rugs created by the nomadic community of the remote Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan.

The Shyrdaks have a tough flattened felt base sewn with geometric patterns.

Made outdoors by tribal women, each rug takes a master cutter and her team of makers between 10 and 20 days to complete.

The Shyrdaks are available in a variety of vibrant tones, including reds, hot pinks, bright blues and emerald greens; alternatively, customers can choose a more neutral option.

Neutral rugs are made using the naturally occurring colours in sheep wool, with no dyes or treatments.

Ranging from browns and greys through to cream, they are ideal for forming subtle backdrops within elegant interiors, according to Felt.

Rug sizes range from small (0.8 x 1m) to room sized (2 x 3.5m) and larger.

Prices start at GBP280.

Special commissions can be undertaken.
