Consumers prioritise eco-friendly showers

Recent research conducted by Deva has shown that environmental credentials are the top priority of consumers when choosing a new shower.

More than 4,000 consumers took part in the company's research and had to choose which of the following is most important when choosing a shower: looks, price or environmental credentials.

Most (45 per cent) said that environmental credentials are the most important factor, followed by looks (36 per cent) and then price (17 per cent).

Only two per cent of those surveyed were unsure which aspect of a new shower purchase is most important.

Claire Stokes, Deva's sales and marketing manager, said: 'Just a couple of years ago, consumers were wary of eco showers, believing the performance to be inferior to that of a conventional shower, and environmental credentials were somewhat further down the wish list.

'With technological developments in products such as Deva's Satinjet range by Methven, consumers are realising that they can have an eco shower, which still packs a powerful performance, looks great and offers real value for money,' she added.

The Satinjet range is claimed to cut water and energy use by up to 40 per cent with every shower taken, subject to individual water and heating systems.

Using twin jets to create 3,000 tiny drops of water per second with nine litres of water per minute, this range is said to be simple to install, maintain and use and is safe for the whole family.
