David Long Designs has redesigned plans and created an orangery extension for two clients.

The clients, Joy and Brian, had plans drawn up by a local architect for their extension, an orangery with windows around three sides.

Freestanding furniture is intended to create an elegant, sophisticated look in this extension.

David Long Designs assessed the site and redesigned the proposal with only one wall of full-height folding doors, which allowed views over the grounds from the main aspect only.

Having two full walls made way for a limestone fireplace with a tall carved overmantel, large statement pieces of furniture and mirrors as focal points.

The orangery is entered through the new kitchen, with its main focal point being the Elica Star crystal extractor over the large central island.

The cream hand-painted bespoke units are designed to complement the off-white granite work surface.

The kitchen also features carved walnut pilasters, Zebrano drawer fronts and Pewter handles.

The company wanted to create freestanding furniture to create an elegant, sophisticated look.

The sink run is styled on a cupboard fitment, with the granite work surface extending up the wall with a deep curve that allows for a wall-mounted tap.

A Zip tap, which is claimed to give instantaneous boiling and chilled filtered water, is also featured in the new kitchen.

The appliance fitment houses all Neff equipment, with a coffee machine, a warming drawer, a steam oven, a microwave and a combination oven in brushed stainless steel.
