Merseytravel uses Clos-o-Mat wash-and-dry toilet

A public transport body has utilised the Clos-o-Mat wash-and-dry toilet as part of a redevelopment to incorporate access for the disabled.

Accessibility is being ensured through detailed shop layouts, colour contrasts, door widths and 'Changing Places, Changing Lives' toilet facilities at a Merseytravel terminal.

The Clos-o-Mat automatic toilet and Aerolet toilet lift are included in a complete package offered by Total Hygiene to provide accessible facilities for disabled people.

The disabled public facility features a hoist, a changing table, a shower, a Clos-o-Mat wash-and-dry toilet and an Aerolet vertical toilet lift.

The wash-and-dry toilet, manufactured in the UK by Total Hygiene, includes an integral douche and drier, eliminating the need to for toilet tissue after toileting, which is intended to benefit people with affected balance and mobility.

The Aerolet vertical toilet lift, also supplied by Total Hygiene, raises and lowers the user to position them, replicating the natural motion of standing up and sitting down.

The wash-and-dry toilet and vertical toilet lift are key elements of Total Hygiene's product offering, which includes accessories to personalise the Clos-o-Mat to individual needs, as well as a range of height-adjustable equipment such as basins and changing tables.
