An outdoor fireplace set with a Bonfire sculpture by Cathy Azria of B and D Design has created a focal point for the seating area of a London garden designed by Luciano Giubbilei.

The fireplace set is framed with a polished concrete surround.

Egyptian limestone paving provides a backdrop to the modern furniture, also designed by Giubbilei.

The steel-top dining tables and chairs and the low sofas are shaded by plane trees, which light up at night.

Built to special commission, Azria's new fires are run on mains gas and they can be designed into a chimney or built into fireproof/frost-proof vessels.

The size, positioning and sculptural forms are designed in conjunction with the client and the steel elements of each piece are left untreated to develop a fire-tempered rusty patina.

As flames lick through them, they begin to glow red hot.
