B and D Design has introduced the Fire Pit, a traditional-looking bonfire made of steel and created by sculptor Cathy Azria for a garden in Chelsea, London.

Azria's outdoor fire sculptures are built to special commission and are run on mains gas.

The sculptures can be designed into a chimney, built into fireproof/frost-proof vessels or sculpted to look like traditional bonfires and set into stone chippings.

The size, positioning and sculptural forms are designed in collaboration with the client and the steel elements of each piece are left untreated to develop a fire-tempered rusty patina.

As flames lick through them, they begin to glow red hot.

The fire sculptures are priced from GBP1,800.
