The stools are available in Burr Oak, Black Ash, Natural Cherry and Natural Ash, as well as the company's standard stain finishes or painted colours.

Based on the simple but practical lines of the British Arts and Crafts Movement, with influences of the US Craftsman Mission style, they are suitable for use in both traditional and contemporary settings.

Batheaston is now offering its Cabriole Stool in Burr Oak, which is said to have an unusual and interesting finish.

According to the company, burr oak occurs when oak trees try to produce small side shoots, which then get nibbled or cut off.

If this happens, the tree tries to do the same thing again, forming clusters of small knots and giving the trunk a knobbly appearance.

Finally, the company is now offering the Frame Armchair and Side Chair in Black Ash.

It is available with an upholstered seat or with a solid ash seat if preferred.
