The chairs are made of mild steel powder coated in a range of colours using an Akzonobel anti-corrosion coating system.

This two-layer system consists of a barrier-protective primer (Interpon BPP330) overcoated with a polyester topcoat (Interpon 610).

This method has been specially formulated to provide enhanced corrosion protection.

Naughtone used Service First Associate Specialised Coatings in Halifax to undertake the powder-coating work.

According to Kieron Bakewell, design director of Naughtone, it can supply the Reg chair for use outdoors without having to use expensive stainless steel.

'The paint system also allows us the flexibility of a whole range of colours,' he added.
